This weekend was taken at a different pace than usual. I didn't travel anywhere and it was very relaxing. On Thursday morning a small group of us traveled to Galway for the day. It was a beautiful day. The first warm and sunny day I've seen since being in Ireland. As I can start to see the end of this trip, my brother and I decided to take this day to do some souvenir shopping around the local Galway stores. Friday was a very relaxing day. After the long week of school work or paper and projects and constantly traveling, it was very refreshing to take the weekend off. We were very fortunate because Friday's weather was just as nice as Thursday's weather. Saturday I went back into Galway for the food festival. Galway was packed with people on the main strip. The food was delicious but was also expensive so after we tried a few samples of Irish food, me and my brother ventured off to a pizza place on the main strip where you can get a HUGE piece of pizza for three euro's. Totally worth it! The rest of the day was spent exploring the the back streets of Galway. Old shops and pubs that were less touristy and a more Irish traditional style. After conversing with a local bar tender about traditional country music, we learned that Townes Van Zandt played his last show in Galway before he died. Easter Sunday was warm and sunny so Jordan and I took a stroll down to the beach near the sea food restaurant. The beach was filled with families gathering together and children running around on the beach in their Easter clothes. This made me miss my family and wish that they could have been together on this particular holiday. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire experience, I have finally reached that point of getting ready to think about coming home and accepting this fact. Counting today, I have sixteen days left of studying in Ireland and I'm becoming very anxious because there are a few more activities and places I would like to go before leaving. Hopefully I can take full advantage of these last few weeks in Ireland!
